Chevrolet Rezzo

The interior of the five-seater with its contemporary fabric designs will make passengers feel very much at home. The top model has wood trim on the instrument panel and it is additionally equipped with remote control central locking including alarm. As an option, an automatic climate control system is available to provide pleasant interior temperatures, available from equipment level SX. For the top-of-the CDX there now is an optional rain sensor available.

The Chevrolet Tacuma/Rezzo is a particularly family-friendly companion, offering outstanding versatility, featuring a very wide range of standard equipment and thus giving excellent value for money. The compact van, with its length of 4.35 metres, takes up no more road space than a conventional station wagon, but with its height of 1.58 meters, its variable seating arrangement and attention to day-to-day details, offers a much greater benefit.

The rear compartment of the Tacuma is fitted with three individual back seats. Each seat can be folded up separately, pushed up against the front seats or taken out completely. With five people on board, the trunk holds a respectable 347 litres, but if the rear seats are removed, the capacity of 1,847 litres almost reaches commercial vehicle proportions.

Numerous practical details show how much thought the design team gave to the day-to-day use of the van: The sun-glasses compartment in the roof console, cup holders in the center console at the front and in the armrests of the back seats, pop-up picnic tables at the back of the front seats, a hook for shopping bags and 12-Volt sockets in the rear and in the trunk are just some examples. Another useful feature in the top-of-the-range model, the 2.0 CDX, is that the passenger seat can be rotated 180° to face the rear-seat passengers.

Tacuma buyers have a choice of two modern gasoline engines with four-valve technology, two overhead camshafts and Euro 3 classification: The economical 1.6-liter version produces 77 kW/104 hp, while the 2.0-litre engine generates 89 kW/121 hp. As an alternative to the standard five-gear manual transmission, the larger engine can be ordered with a four-speed automatic gearbox from the German specialists, ZF. This state-of-the-art gearbox features electronic control and an adaptive shift program.

The top speed of the vans is 167 km/h (1.6 litre engine) and 180 km/h (2.0 litre with manual transmission), underlining the suitability of these spacious family cars for long-distance driving. Depending on the engine, the Tacuma consumes 8.3 or 9.0 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres (MVEG combined cycle).

When it came to the tuning and synchronization of the chassis – at the front, the wheels are suspended individually on McPherson struts, while at the rear, there is a torsion beam axle – the design team enlisted the support of engineers from the famous German sports car manufacturer, Porsche. The standard ABS braking system with electronic brake-force distribution ensures outstanding efficiency

The stable, crash-optimized body structure provides high levels of protection for the vehicle's occupants. Every Tacuma comes with standard driver and passenger airbags, new side airbags, five height-adjustable head restraints, and three-point belts on the outer seats. Special deformation zones in which the impact energy can be specifically dissipated have been incorporated in both the front and rear ends of the Tacuma. The vehicle achieved good results in more than 300 internal crash tests, due in particular to the sophisticated front-end design with its three load-absorbing elements and the dual-section, ladder-shaped auxiliary frame at the rear.
