Beneath the large tailgate, the practical station wagon (length/width/height): 4,562/ 1,725/1,459 mm) has a capacity of 400 to 1,410 litres according to the VDA standard Apart from the folding backrest (which folds down in the ratio of 60:40), useful features include an aluminum-look roof rack as standard, an additional 12V power socket in the luggage compartment, and as many as 25 trays and holders inside.

The refreshing exterior design of the Nubira station wagon is based on the form of the Nubira four-door model designed by Pininfarina, but the final details have been added by the styling specialists at the new GM Daewoo design center in Bupyong/South Korea. The chrome radiator grille and large front clear-glass headlamps combine to create a particularly attractive design feature, while the eye-catching rear lamps have been styled vertically to ensure a generously wide opening for loading. As far as the interior design is concerned, the Nubira station wagon tends more to the sporty-elegant look of the Lacetti and boasts, for example, the same four circular air vents with the metal-look bezel.

The Nubira station wagon comes with a choice of two modern four-cylinder, four-valve gasoline engines. The 1.6-litre unit generates 80 kW/109 hp and propels the front-wheel drive model to a top speed of 187 km/h. It has a moderate MVEG mix consumption of 7.8 litres per 100 km. The performance of the 90 kW/122 hp. 1.8-litre engine is naturally even higher (e.g. max. speed of 183 km/h). If desired, the larger engine can be combined with a modern four-speed automatic transmission from ZF.

A high level of active and passive safety is provided first of all by the chassis (which has been geared specifically to European conditions) with independent wheel suspension also on the rear axle. ABS is standard, as is a wide range of safety features that include two front and side airbags.

Chevrolets successful philosophy of offering plenty of car for little money is reflected in the low price and wide range of standard features in the new car. The Nubira station wagon comes with a whole assortment of useful features like tinted thermal insulation glass, windscreen antenna, power windows at the front and an RDS cassette tuner. The SX version additionally has an air-conditioner, adjustable interval windscreen wiper and lumbar support for the driver seat. The top-of-the-range CDX comes with even more standard features, including automatic air-conditioner, power windows front and rear and a windscreen wiper system with rain sensor.
